About
Established 1992, Montréal, Canada
Our mission is to continue to create innovative products for discerning customers seeking exquisite, high quality and performance decorative lighting.
History
Founded in 1992 by industrial designer Vincent Dion and Monica Brunet, Hèmèra set out to design and manufacture a superior line of Canadian lighting products to rival European imports. The Cassiopée wall sconce, designed in 1991, became the company’s flagship piece.
The name Hèmèra is borrowed from the Greek goddess of terrestrial light. Today our collections are distributed throughout North America and internationally.
Quality
Exacting standards apply at every step of production. Our team brings together specialists in metal, wood, glass, resin, acrylic and jewellery, behind details such as magnetic canopies and 18K gold and nickel plating in place of brass or chrome.
Every fixture is rigorously tested, certified and quality-controlled before it ships, matched by the superior support we provide to our agencies and customers.
Workshop
Based in Montréal since 1992, our in-house workshop carries out all manufacturing in steel, brass, copper, stainless steel, wood, resin, acrylic and glass, including an in-house glass studio.
By controlling the entire production process, we manage finishes, sizes, materials, light source and LED specifications, allowing for endless possibilities.
Design
Our in-house industrial design team creates products that balance aesthetics with high performance and reliable lighting solutions. All products are UL-listed and many meet ADA requirements.
We believe that quality design, engineering and superior manufacturing are inseparable.
